Famine inquires, "Alrighty, so to kick us off, who wants to log us this week?"
Delilah claims, "I can."
Famine claims, "<3"
Famine states, "Let us know when posted and I'll award you"
Petal stops using a sharp stiletto-style dagger with a moonstone inset pommel.
Sarah sits down and rests.
Petal holds a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison in her hand.
Rue sits down and rests.
Rue lifts a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison to their nose and sniffs at it.
NotChloe stands up.
Eli has lost link.
Eli has reconnected.
Famine says, "Second order of business - Who has topics for this meeting. Please
notify me without giving the topic and you'll be called upon when the time comes."
NotChloe lifts a boxy black Polaroid camera on a long rainbow canvas strap and
snaps a photo of Famine.
NotChloe says, "Now i have living proof god does exist"
Sarah states to Famine, "I have a topic"
Ruby claims, "Me."
Ruby gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
NotChloe says, "I have a topic"
NotChloe trails off, "Ish..."
Scarlet is just chillin' this go around. Have fun everyone.
NotChloe sits down and rests.
Petal states, "I have a request-topic about topics."
[Action: Scarlet is sitting in Ruby's lap. ]
Famine claims, "Got Sarah, Ruby, NotChloe, and Petal. Will call Petal first when
the time comes due to the nature of it."
Petal nods at Famine.
Famine inquires, "Anyone else?"
Andruid claims, "Me."
Famine asks, "Have Andruid down now. Anyone else?"
Famine states, "Another on the list now too."
Corene claims, "I'm just here to listen and also get a fun prize"
Famine claims, "Anyone else? Speak now or... hold your piece until the time
comes cause we won't refuse you."

Villainess gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Famine states, "Sorry Marsh, Atlas transferring you means you'll have to go down
from here when it's time to go back on grid."
Famine claims, "Can't retrans you now"
Misty gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Petal states, "Damn it Atlas."
zombilicious declares, "YES! HAROLD!"
(advice) Player Xander: Can I get a beam up?
zombilicious gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Misty says, "Awww Harold"
Famine has transferred Xander. [OOC]
Atlas says, "Apologies."
Petal stops using a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Autonomous looks all around.
Autonomous glances at a dustproof drab canvas strap watch with a screw down crown.
Famine muses, "Anyone else have a topic for today before we continue since we
have a bunch of latecomers?"
zombilicious rubs her face against a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Famine says, "Also look at all these clean clothes. Everyone with their sunday
best for Meeting o' Famine."
zombilicious claims, "It's because you scare us."
Corene says, "I even took a bath"
Sarah states, "Oh god damn it i forgot to put pants on"
Misty states, "Same."
NotChloe , quickly dirties her clothes as an act of rebellion.
Famine pontificates, "Alright, since we have topics together, Staff Updates!"
Famine wonders, "Atlas, kick us off?"
Yukimura has transferred Ode. [OOC]
[Action: Ruby is petting Scarlet. ]
Atlas states, "I did a lot of things; recommends, many typo fixes, a few
helpfile edits, and a few scenes, such as when Harold entered the mall and savaged some zombies in
front of people."
Famine states to Ode, "Sorry thought you were here."
Ode sits on Daisy.
Ode claims, "Always in your heart, pal."
[Action: Daisy is being flattened by Ode. ]
Petal states, "I am so overdue doing recommends."
Scarlet claims, "When you're in the mall and the Dark Souls boss music starts playing"
Ruby does one recommend per week.
Ode laughs at Scarlet.
zombilicious trails off, "I also have a backlog of recommends I have to do..."
Famine claims, "As for myself, I've largely been handling typos, some helpfile
edits like Atlas, some mob chute fixes for zombies, did some rprequests involving meangirls zombies
in the mall, some grid updates, building requests, and general requests."
zombilicious looks at her To Do list.
Famine states, "As well as the unskilled soup recipe updates."
Rue claims, "Good soup."
Atlas says, "I almost forgot. I also added master level weapons for welding,
which were submitted by Petal and approved by Ash."
Andruid states, "Hooray"
Ruby states, "Kinda funny that a Famine is giving us more food."
Ode exclaims, "Ooh the pretty ones!"
Famine states, "Ash can't be here today due to IRL concerns, but you can assume
that everything on the code changes list is from either her or Yukimura, or both. This tends to be
too many things to list."
Murrmurs gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Petal states, "Ash and Yuki have been busy bees."
Famine says to Ruby, "To be fair, it's famine food. The stuff you subsist on
when you have little else."
Famine claims, "I know this too personally."
Ruby states, "Also true. "
NotChloe trails off, "He says little else... I say when too lazy to cook (most days)"
Ruby nod-nods at Famine.
Famine asks, "Alright, so Heartbeat! My living friends who totally aren't future
dead, how's your week been?"
Eli says, "A mix"
Xander states, "Great. Harold did a great job 😃"
Daisy squints at Famine.
Misty states, "Almost died, that was fun and scary."
Petal says, "Harold MVP this week."
Sarah declaims, "Ive been holed up cause busy ooc but the scenes i have been
able to have were good!"
Ode states, "What she said"
Anonymous claims, "Hmmmmmmmmmmm"
Scarlet states, "Having lots of fun exploring crafting and trying to give the
game world some extra flavor! Also enjoying the new medical items too like compression bandages,
even if I haven't gotten to use most of them yet."
zombilicious declares, "I got the greenhouse finished for everyone! AND THE TOMATO PLANT!"
Petal says, "So, I've been trying to cut back on play a bit during peak times to
focus on work a bit, the last couple of days. Cause it's been a bit rough. Everyone is too enjoyable
to RP with. But need to get better at work/life balance."
NotChloe claims, "Well I survived enough week so 10/10 would play again. RP has
been nice, the Harold mall scene was funny. I also have like spent the latter half of this week with
injuries and getting more because I'm a dummy who wont wait to heal. Slowly (so slowly) levelling
welding more too which is nice."
zombilicious no longer has to stare at it in despair.
Delilah says, "It's been a bit hard to connect to roleplay, to be honest."
Ruby states, "Super, still having lots of fun. Some struggle with the zombie
stuff but I get that side of things is still a WiP."
Daisy claims, "THE TOMATO PLANT! So proud of you."
Villainess muses, "Can you elaborate, Delilah?"
Rue claims, "I opened a store with a dumb name. It's going alright."
Petal asks, "Anything that would help with that connection Delilah?"
Misty claims, "Rat-Mart."
NotChloe says, "Not a burger van 0/10 Rue"
Corene declares, "I've been seeking out a lot of RP and getting really good
scenes, though like Petal I need to work on my work-life balance. Delilah, I'd love to seek you out
IC - I want to spend more time RPing outside of my usual circle. Trying to avoid being insular!"
Daniel claims, "Compression bandages were an amazing add. Definitely makes
medical RP feel more grounded vs leeches for everything"
Famine states, "A newer player did relate to me that it seemed that while they
didn't have a lack of RP, trying to get involved felt tougher without being a member of a faction."
Delilah claims, "I'm not sure where to go to try to entice people to play. I try
to position myself on the grid somewhere public but it's not clear how to get into RP with people."
Famine has transferred Heck. [OOC]
Petal nods at Famine.
Delilah states, "I've said the word 'insular' OOCly to describe this week."
Sarah nods at Delilah.
zombilicious trails off, "Hm. That is concerning, though I admit that I find it
easier to do radio RP lately due to general ennui..."
Corene nods at Delilah.
Famine says, "I think the radio might be one of the best ways to find RP."
NotChloe states, "I think a lot of people outside of factions are good to get
involved with. Most of us at the Union are super happy to RP if you come bug us when we're at the
hardware store. Frankly I have met a lot of people there."
Misty states, "I kinda feel like that's true for sure Famine."
Scarlet sticks her leeches all over Daniel. c: "You love my leeches, shush."
Famine claims, "But I can see where that'd be tough if you're introverted"
Rue says, "I could see how it could be harder to get into rp now that people are
on private freqs more."
NotChloe claims, "I will try and see about doing more campfire dances and rpinvites for those."
(advice) Player Daniel: How do I add myself to the suggestion queue
Villainess claims, "The Encampment's usually a good spot. Or finding reasons to
ask for people individually. My experience hasn't been very insular but I can see it in some
sections, I think."
(advice) Player Daniel: Just send a tell to famine?
zombilicious says, "I should sit at the encampment more often."
(advice) Staff Famine: You have a topic?
Petal claims, "I struggle with the encampment cause it just gets too busy really
fast and then I have to nope out."
Sarah states, "I think phomes and people having places to split up to rather
than being forced into the campsite have eroded some of that too so it might be good to try to get
people out on purpose"
Scarlet states, "I try to go out of my way to talk to cyans if I can help it. If
they are alts they will usually drop hints that they don't need help, so I just assume out of virtue
they are new."
Stitch states, "The encampment is so awkward; 'let's sit outside, exposed to the
elements!' as an RP-zone is...awkward."
(advice) Player Daniel: Yes, no rush on it though
Scarlet was explaining the lay of the land to Honey yesterday at the encampment.
(advice) Staff Famine: I'll add you to my list
NotChloe states, "The worlds end exists as an inside hangout zone too"
zombilicious says, "It might be nice if we had a public directory of public
rooms, too, because I think most random group RP tends to take place in public rooms like the
Encampment and stuff."
Sarah states, "I have noticed black oak players are very inclusive"
Delilah says, "I struggled to find black oak players my first week."
Misty trails off, "I think it's just... all groups lol"
Villainess claims, "I try to be myself."
zombilicious states, "Yeah, I don't think any group is that insular."
Xander claims, "I try to befriend zombie but they try to bite me"
Ode states, "I've been pretty reclusive this last while because of irl things,
but I find if you ask fr help on the radio with literally anything, that's a hook"
zombilicious states, "But sometimes it can be hard due to timezones and stuff."
NotChloe says, "I've never had issues rping with oaks when they're around. But
like, I understand where Delilah comes from, sometimes folks just arent around."
Famine says, "I haven't noticed a real dropoff in -anyone- not being inclusive,
tbh. I think it's more of just making sure you're out there a bit so newer folks -know- you're
available to rp with."
Crayon says, "I think a lot of people prefer groups of 3-5 and it seems like a
lot of RP scenes get snowballed into the 10+ range if they're hopping. Having more varied places on
grid for people to interact instead of all jumping in on the same scene might help with a thriving
social scene, or that's my hope at least."
Petal nods at Famine.
Daisy says OOCly, "Big agree with Petal and Corene- everyone I've had scenes
with has been great, need to balance real life a bit. I'm also excited for there to be some more
public lessons and stuff the next few weeks. And same as Ode, always down to chat!""
zombilicious hides in her Diner a lot and should get out more.
zombilicious adds 'plant seminar' to her To Do list.
Daisy says, "Oops, recovering from Achaea."
NotChloe adds teach people spanish swear words to her to do list
Ruby says, "I think the two main combat/scav oriented factions in the game right
now are often off doing their own things. At least when it comes to scav runs I think some of the
better fighters could try to take cyans out more."
Atlas has transferred Nappist. [OOC]
Nappist states, "Thank you."
Rue claims, "Agree with crayon. It's easy to let yourself just become wallpaper in big scenes."
Nappist gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Famine states, "Alrighty, as one of our players does have an rp event tonight(I
think), gonna move on to the next thing. Please just keep the concern in mind about availability to
try to keep the welcoming vibe up for folks."
[Action: Nappist lurks. ]
NotChloe says, "It does feel a touch like scav runs arent broadcast as much as
they used to be (but I may have missed it)"
Famine BANGS THE GAVEL, "HEAR YE HEAR YE, FIRST UP FOR SESSION - PETAL"
Petal pontificates, "So, last week's meeting was very long and very chaotic and
I really struggled a lot to keep track of it. I am not sure if others struggled with it as much as I
did, but I'd like to ask players to try really hard to stay on topic, and if they have new ideas, or
topics and even tangents, to keep them till the end, to go over if we have time. Or raise them as a
new topic to Famine to be included at the end. Particularly as we have more and more players
attending this becomes all the more important. That's all really.
Also I have a story thing next week, if you're interested, STORY REVIEW 8 and apply!"
[Action: zombilicious sits in Petal's pocket. ]
Ode nods at Petal.
(advice) Player Ruby: How do you apply for a story exactly?
NotChloe states, "I sent you a pboard on that btw petal, cant work out how to apply otherwise."
Famine states, "On that topic, yes, let's try to stay strictly on topic. If we
derail too much I may have to remove folks from the meeting. This isn't anything against anyone or
meant as a threat even, it's just how it is to try to keep some cohesion."
Andruid claims, "I don't want to take up a coveted story slot since there are
only so many, but I am super excited for your story, Petal."
Petal says, "Just a pboard to apply is fine."
zombilicious starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Ruby nods at Famine.
Famine asks, "Does that conclude it for you, Petal?"
Nappist says, "People can talk on ooc and send messages - communication lines
are open, and the ooc log always gets posted as sort of a tack-on to Famine's statement."
Petal states, "Thanks Famine, and perfectly."
zombilicious finishes her note.
Famine exclaims, "Time to put the pedal(har har) to the metal. Onward!"
Famine says, "Sarah, you're up."
Sarah questions, "I'd like a few more points added on to app score to balance
all the easy bonuses and make the xp that you put in to buy app points worthwhile. Maybe if the
upper was like, 8?"
Sarah says, "I walk satans path"
Crayon states, "Consign Sarah."
Anonymous claims, "Consign sarah"
Petal states, "I kinda like that it's 5. And not such a huge range. But also..
I'm not super invested in app anyways."
NotChloe claims, "That seems kinda fair tbh... with how easy getting +1 is and
more having higher app caps could work."
Famine claims, "Hm. That's not a terrible concept, you demon. I'd suggest
putting that one up to Ideas. Ash does run through those occasionally when typos and everything's
been cleared out to review them."
Sarah says, "There are tons of 5s running around rn"
zombilicious claims, "As someone who's in other games put in an excessive amount
of resources to be beautiful, watching others get to a similar point without wasting those resources
on something trivial does often make me sad."
NotChloe trails off, "Let me be gorgeous Sarah... cries"
Heck claims, "Yeah, the game certainly seems full of beautiful people."
Ruby claims, "Yeah it's super easy to walk out of chargen stupid hot, albeit with some investment."
zombilicious claims, "So I can vibe Sarah's desire to have a higher cap."
Murrmurs claims, "There are a lot of app-raising tools around, so having an
extended range appeals to me too."
Ode starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
zombilicious claims, "I walked out of CG with 2 and can get to a 4 with clean
clothes and beauty products, not having had to waste any resources."
Misty states, "I mean, we can also rather than simply increasing the upper
range, increase the lower range."
Scarlet says, "As long as you're raising the ceiling and not making everyone
else uglier, I think that's fine."
Sarah states, "Right now if you roll out as a 4 you get 5 from clean clothes"
Sarah nods at Scarlet.
Famine states, "I for one welcome the idea of being able to call someone a 10/10."
Famine says, "ICly"
Scarlet states, "Two people who are app 4, one has perfume, clean clothes, and
makeup, one just has clean clothes, they are both app 5."
Scarlet claims, "So I kind of get it"
Crayon says, "Yeah, if the range was extended, to 10 would make the most sense to me."
Andruid says, "You can. Nothing is stopping you."
NotChloe says, "I think either lower the amount of cumulative app bonuses or raise app cap"
[Action: Heck is vibing to The Human League ]
Ode finishes their note.
Famine states, "Such a pity our game takes place before the times of Tinder and
Twitter culture, because that would be a funny conversion."
NotChloe trails off, "Everyone starts a 2 out of 10 because the apocalypse has not been kind..."
zombilicious claims, "Or perhaps raise how much XP you need to raise appearance cap too."
Crayon claims, "The various modifiers would probably need a bit of an audit,
then, etc., but I'd be okay with extending it."
Crayon claims, "And also okay with consigning Sarah."
Scarlet claims, "I think up to like 7 or 8 would be better"
Scarlet states, "10 seems kind of excesssive"
Murrmurs says, "I assume such an extension would also involve adjectives spreading out"
Andruid says, "I don't mind that we have laundry since it's only once a week,
but - maybe this is tangential - I'd like to see the line removed from look. It's spammy when there
are a lot of people in the room."
Petal says, "It used to be higher for AE."
zombilicious states, "In the real world, we often do a 10 scale when rating
other humans, so I don't think 10 is bad."
Anonymous says, "I wont do laundry"
Murrmurs says, "Contra to the AE arrangement where max app was 'your heart stops
beating' levels of god damn"
Sarah states, "I think right now laundry + amenity stacks so you could get to a
10/10 right now by rolling as 4, buying 4, and then having clean clothes and perfume"
Sarah claims, "And dont judge me for being able to work that out immediately"
Andruid claims, "15 people who have clean clothes = 15 extra lines of scroll."
Heck says, "I second Andruid."
zombilicious says, "Laundry and amenities do stack, can confirm."
Famine claims, "I'm not sure on laundry. I sort've feel like seeing someone in
clean clothes would be a very stark sight in the theme."
Stitch states, "Having intentionally dumpstatted my magnetism for that purpose
and others, being at a 2-out-of-5 because I wear nice clothes, meanwhile someone's dumped 100kXP
into it and is barely double is silly."
Andruid states, "Make it print when you look at them."
Nappist says, "Bind it all into a single line would be nice for parsing, I concur with andruid."
Andruid claims, "Not when you look at the room."
zombilicious claims, "We all have clean clothes since it doesn't decay quickly, though."
NotChloe states, "Maybe instead of clean clothes as a line make it like AE's
fashionable and add a tag onto their name."
Murrmurs states, "Second andruid."
Villainess claims, "While I agree it should be higher than 5, I think we should
also be careful about not making it too high, where it turns the "prettiness number" into something
of a competitive rat race. I'm not sure how it functions but like, there should definitely be an
upper limit to how naturally pretty you get, and the rest should have to come from effort."
Sarah claims, "Maybe the clean clothes decay could be significantly shortened,
or removed when you get b&g or (dirty)"
Famine states to Andruid, "Could you ideas board that one? I don't think it'd be
too hard to turn it into a look over seeing it in the room."
Andruid claims, "As for app, don't mind if the range is increased - happy if
that goes on an Idea board."
NotChloe says OOCly, "Aka 'notchloe sits here crying into icecream(for1) l]"
Anonymous states, "I embrace the chad app 1 life."
NotChloe trails off, "Okay the CL with boxes didn't work... you get the jist"
Murrmurs says, "Agree villain, too."
Crayon says, "If a clean clothes adjustment worked out a way to encourage people
to have multiple outfits and to change them frequently that would be good (and also great for the
zombilicious says, "I mean, appearance is also subjective and not objective, so
having a 'pretty score' is already superfluous if we're going to talk about natural beauty."
Famine states, "Ash will read the logs, so I don't doubt she'll see the
suggestions to give the ideas board notes on them some priority when she's around. Just scarce for
the next few days."
Crayon says, "Also expanding the appearance scale would allow for things like
jewelry to give bumps too."
Sarah says, "I just want to rp an alien looking mofo"
Anonymous says, "You just want to rp a pretty looking mofo"
Sarah states, "Eyes on the side of my head"
Violet wonders, "Your clothes stay clean even after you get blood and gore on you????"
Ode states, "App now impacts performances so there is an actual mechanical consideration now."
Sarah states to Violet, "Yeah atm"
Famine says to Sarah, "Don't lie, you just wanna make sure you can ask the
raiders to let you do your hair before they punch you in the face."
Petal nods at Crayon.
Andruid declaims to Ode, "Didn't know that. Neat!"
Violet claims, "That seems odd"
Sarah claims to Famine, "I am many faceted, many minded, many throned, many wiled"
Andruid starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
NotChloe wonders, "Is it worth moving on now?"
Sarah claims, "We can move on now"
Famine states, "I believe so."
Famine declares, "Ruby!"
Sarah starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Ruby claims, "Hello! Not much to say this week. Just wanted to mention something
on the PvP side of things. When you use the 'charge' command it should subtract MV proportional to
how much distance you've traveled. As things are right now it's possible to keep dashing around
forever as long as you don't fail the roll. It becomes especially noticeable when you use a shorter
range weapon and gets old fast."
Ode gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Anonymous states, "Thats been a thing since TI. i call it the ring around the rosie game"
Famine states, "I do think that deserves some looking at to at least give it a move cost."
NotChloe states, "I've always found ranges in pvp so tedious... especially when sparring."
Famine states, "MV matters a LOT in PvE, so missing a charge would matter"
Ruby says, "I played AE for like a week so this is my first time experiencing it."
Andruid finishes her note.
Famine says, "Erm, PvP, not PvE"
Ruby nods at Famine.
Nappist says, "I don't mind the ring around the rosy game, so much as I hate how
it drags out what could be a cool scene into a three hour long sandbagging."
Stitch wonders, "Any consideration for making it an offense vs. defense check to
even get that close to someone to begin with?"
Murrmurs ,pulls up his old stump box... "I still am wondering about the utility
of a two-tier combat system, where PvP requires learning entirely different mechanics from what is
usually played here."
Sarah finishes her note.
Sarah starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Sarah aborts writing a note.
Sarah starts editing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Famine says, "I'm not too sure how much attention we want to emphasize on it
since while we aren't against PvP, our main focus is directed at PvE conflict."
Crayon inquires, "Is the PvP even meant to be a priority?"
Nappist claims, "Right now it's mostly a solid way to train up your defensive
skill without being mulched, which consists of finding the lowest-strength characters you can find
and letting them punch you"
Scarlet says, "Sparring is one of the better ways to prep yourself for PVE."
Famine claims, "It's not very high on our priority list no. That said, it
wouldn't hurt to at least give it some attention."
Stitch says, "PvPing crayon is ALWAYS a priority. gonna knife u"
Sarah finishes her note.
zombilicious says, "Easiest way, poisoning his peach cobbler."
NotChloe says, "Psshh get a room Stitch."
Anonymous claims, "Im gonna knife crayon too"
Crayon claims, "I mean, it sounds silly! But was mostly addressing Murrmurs.
Afaik the PvP is mostly just for sparring/training RP."
Famine states, "Idea note giving it a Move cost if you would. Not sure we'll
give it much more complexity than that at the moment."
Ruby says, "Will do."
Famine states, "Nothing saying the community can't have sparring tournaments and whatnot too"
Famine states, "Which could be a constructive pvp method with healthy competition."
Ode states, "Oooh"
Anonymous states, "Bloodsports"
Famine questions, "Is that all for now, Ruby?"
Ruby says, "Yep, thanks all."
Crayon bonks Anon.
Anonymous shanks Crayon.
Famine claims, "In the words of DeeTwo"

Anonymous claims, "Never"
NotChloe tries to kiss Famine, evidently getting confused,.
Famine exclaims, "Alrighty, next person up - NotChloe!"
NotChloe states, "Hi everyone. As some of you may have heard I will be running an open mic"
NotChloe no matter if you're amazing or sound awful. I think it would be nice

NotChloe states, "Hi everyone. As some of you may have heard I will be running
an open mic night social event at the Worlds End. All are invited and all are welcome to perform no
matter if you're amazing or sound awful. I think it would be nice to give our performers some love
with a proper event for them, hopefully the first of many! There will be booze and food provided but
feel free to bring your own too! More ic details will follow soon but current plan is to run the
event on saturday the 12th of November at 5pm server time. Hopefully this time will work for many in
differing timezones. Look forward to seeing you there <3"
NotChloe says, "SHut up anonymous you fish man"
Anonymous states, "Im not a fish man"
Famine says, "Everyone needs a little apocalyptic karaoke now and then"
Famine muses, "That it for you, NotChloe?"
Petal claims, "Oooh sounds fun. But also.. insanely early for me, alas."
NotChloe claims, "If you cant drunkenly belt out dont stop believing during an
apocalypse whats the point? And yes Famine."
NotChloe states, "I cant do like 7pm server time else I'll miss most of my own event1"
Famine claims, "See I was thinking Livin on a Prayer"

Heck says, "Tears for Fears, Bad Man's Song followed by Everybody Wants To Rule The World"
Ode cracks knuckles and starts cranking out more originals.
Famine trails off, "Alrighty, next person up is... ANDRUID"
Heck cheers for Andruid
Andruid says, "Mine's more a question, I suppose. FPAY hasn't been completely
removed from the game, so I'm wondering whether there's plans to merge it with the current rations
payout? Context: I started a faction on the premise that it provides regular ration payouts, and as
much as I like the idea of meeting individuals each week to hand them their pay, I also dread being
the bottleneck, especially when I have a busy week IRL like this week."
Andruid claims, "I can think of a few different ways to handle it without FPAY -
none are great, and I could probably make do, but I'd appreciate a semi-automated option as a kind
of perk for having paid the 1000 rations."
Ode inquires, "Wait, faction leaders are getting fpay?"
Crayon states, "No."
Famine says, "I'm pretty sure we do intend to revive that functionality with
factions. Feels weird for the faction to have a thing that mentions the faction's rations reserves
only to not have any. "
Current board changed to Requests. You can both read and write here.
There are 0 unread notes.
Stitch states, "Not what's being stated, no. Asking about paying faction-members
from the faction's reserves."
Andruid states, "There are no banks, so FPAY has no utility."
Corene drinks from a flask of medicinal ginger tea.
Famine asks, "Post up a bug note mentioning it's a result of the meeting to
determine if we're going to fix that functionality or leave it as is?"
Crayon wonders, "I mean, I think it would be as easy a solve as just flagging
the courthouse as a bank room?"
Corene puts a flask of medicinal ginger tea in a versatile Jansport weekender
backpack with a suede bottom.
Murrmurs claims, "Would love factions being able to pay directly"
Petal claims, "Or post office"
Famine states, "Originally we intended to have it so a faction headquarters
could have a place they could dump rations where it'd be like a protected room someone could
potentially break into."
Famine says, "But"
Stitch says, "I actually do love the post office. 'Check's in the mail!' and all that."
Famine claims, "We heavily moved away from pvp aspects since that thought."
Ruby states, "Lol."
Famine claims, "While mailing rations and handling payments face to face is fun
and great for RP, it would also get very tedious and add on a lot more busywork for faction
Famine states, "So I can understand the meh factor."
Famine asks, "Is that everything for you, Androod?"
Andruid claims, "I think on an OOC level, an integrated fpay would just reduce
some of the stress for me, since my playtime is limited, yeah."
Andruid claims, "I'm good - I'll type up a note."
Famine states, "Alright cool."
Stitch says, "Oh, I just meant the post office being the bank so you could RP it as being mailed."
Eli has lost link.
Eli has reconnected.
Crayon claims, "Makes sense to me."
Famine pontificates, "Alrighty. Next person! Ode!"
Ode asks, "What?"
Xander stares unblinking at Ode
Stitch states, "I've remembered that I have a thing I've been meaning to ask about."
Famine states, "I'll add you to the list, Stitch."
Stitch says, "Obviously the front /s"
Ode claims, "I can't remember if I asked about embellishments last week"
Ode states, "I thin I did though"
Ode OOCly corrects their emote: *think
Famine claims, "I want to say you did."
Ode claims, "Alright cool"
Famine states, "Okiedoke, sorry folks. I mistook something Ode said for thinking they had a topic."
NotChloe says, "Ash does that to me like every week."
Famine states, "This is my Ode to Ode."
Ode states, "Famine just thinks about me al the time."
Famine says, "Alrighty, next person is Daniel."
Andruid starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Famine claims, "Cause Stitch doesn't get to skip line. Bad Stitch, down."
Stitch states, "Let me iiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn"
Daniel states, "So this relates to the newer players having a hard time getting
involved while the factions are out doing things. As a character who's main job in town is going out
and hitting zombies, there have been a lot of situations where a newer player asks to join and I'm
stuck turning them down because there isn't really any advantages either of us can get from them
Andruid finishes her note.
(advice) Player Jennifer: I swear, I always forget about the ooc meetings.
Ode inquires, "Advantages?"
Daniel states, "I don't have a ton of ideas to make scavenging and fighting more
inclusive, but if common/uncommon scavenged items were set to a 'everyone gets 1 try' vs. a '3 tries
between the whole party' system for the rare stuff, that would encourage bringing rookie scavengers
along to help bring in supplies for the community."
Petal muses, "Do you mean, on group kinda zombie runs, or on scav runs?"
Andruid questions, "Could you not bring them anyway under the premise that
everyone could use the experience?"
Daniel says, "As in group zombie runs to mid-level scariness areas to get supplies."
Crayon claims, "Thanks for bringing that up, I was going to mention it to
NotChloe. A lot of the time it's hard to bring more people on when you're going out to look for a
specific thing because of the 3 tries across the whole group thing. I've gone out for scavs where we
were specifically looking for one thing in particular and we got none of it because we took extra
people along who picked dandelions or something instead, and so on, so I wind up having to do REAL
scav runs with a smaller group and public scav runs where I don't care about getting anything to
Andruid wonders, "And just trade off on whose turn it is to scavenge?"
Ode muses, "I feel like that's also kinda using ooc info to make ic decisions?"
Stitch claims, "Either/or, really. There's not enough danger to bring people
along because you need the numbers, and too much danger to bring along people who are at risk of
Petal states, "Main reason I tend to not bring so many along isn't because
having more isn't useful, but simply because if you get over 4-5 people it's really hard to RP out
Andruid claims, "I guess I'm not sure why you don't just tell everyone to not
scavenge unless you say so."
Famine questions, "Hm. Have you considered just splitting zombie loot evenly and
having the extra bodies for more head hit chances per round?"
Daniel states, "Exactly, Crayon. There's a lot of things in the current system
pushing us towards keeping trips small and insular, even when we want to involve newer players"
Rue states, "I mean. Just because you say something doesn't mean people will listen."
NotChloe states, "Sometimes players dont listen when its made clear you're
looking for specific things tbh and just scav anyway."
Famine says, "And restricting them from scavenging for that run."
Daisy is idle.
Crayon says, "Yeah, having more people can make the RP more difficult, keep you
from getting what you were going there to get in the first place, and also invite extra risk if a
few people sneak along without armor, etc."
Andruid muses, "Get on their case?"
Petal says, "I feel like that would be something to handle a bit IC. And not
take them next time out heh"
Delilah claims, "If you have a pick of 5 players, odds are you'll pick people
you enjoy RPing with and can find -- probably not new players. I get it functionally. I don't know
that there is a solution."
Andruid muses, "It's part of the etiquette learning curve?"
zombilicious claims, "We do split the loot evenly from drops, but the scavenging
can be harder. But yes, I'd handle it IC and just not take them again if they don't learn."
NotChloe states, "If getting bigger groups is harder maybe more people could be
willing to lead groups out so you habe more trips to different places but in smaller groups."
Daisy has returned from AFK.
Stitch states, "I'll always be stumping for 'everyone scavenges once' per room
as an option, but I understand it's hard."
zombilicious states, "We get RPxp bonuses from RPing with new players, so that
is some incentive. We also get, fun fact, RP bonuses for RPing in dangerous places. Take newbies to
Murrmurs claims, "Don't have much to say, but to generally agree with the sense
of worry around mechanical arrangements which make it hard for low skill characters to break into
the scav game."
Crisp, chilly silence filters through the early winter night.
Daniel states, "Neither of us are saying we don't involve people when we can or
don't split loot evenly. But working to involve more people feels like swimming upstream and going
against what makes the most sense from a mechanical standpoint."
Crayon says, "I try to bring them out one at a time because it's more manageable
that way than bringing out a whole bunch of newbies."
Murrmurs says, "However... it being a burden to bring a newer scav out is in thematic."
Famine claims, "I think this might be an inherent issue that crops up in mudding
in general. Too many followers and not enough leaders. To be, the obvious solution is - form more
groups and foster people getting into more group leadership roles to have less deathballs and more 4-
5 man groups at any given time."
Stitch states, "Yeah, it's a lot easier to take one newbie into a game, and
that's what this is, and teach them with 4-5 experienced players, then run a bunch of newbies with
one experienced player."
Famine says, "But I understand that's easier said than done."
Ruby claims, "I'll take the risk of going out with a bunch of newbs... with
precautions. Please keep your head inside the moving vehicle at all times people."
Murrmurs nods with Famine.
Andruid claims, "I would just say up front: we're taking you to familiarize you
with how this works, don't expect to get a ton out of it this first time. Do as you're told, don't
scavenge until you're told it's okay, etc."
Andruid states, "Lay out some IC ground rules."
Andruid states, "If you can't follow the rules, we won't take you again."
Eli says, "Agred"
NotChloe states, "I might try leading some more groups myself then when I heal
and level my defences up a bit more. So we help with the not enough leader issue Famine mentioned."
Petal says, "As someone who does take out folks, you get swamped sometimes and
it's really hard to try keep it to just 5-6."
Andruid states, "I bet people will listen."
Murrmurs nods. Have had lots of success with almost all newbie runs that I've done in the game
Murrmurs claims, "With just a bit of IC talking to frame it up"
Famine says, "I think a strong option would be to take the newbs on smaller runs
patrolling the perimeter streets in 1 and 2 zombie group scenarios, with possibly a hospital run."
Nappist states, "I'm with Murrmurs. I've always had good times with newbies and
teaching them stuff. But it's hard to manage a giant gagglefuck especially with combat spam."
Famine says, "Until you know they can be trusted."
Andruid states, "The combat spam is real here, yeah."
NotChloe states, "The farms and junkyard are great for street scav group trips tbh"
Sarah claims, "Taking newbies out on perimeter runs and then going on smaller
runs for the important stuff"
zombilicious says, "I think we take them to the Mall, Rat-side."
NotChloe states, "And a lot of people need beggies."
Murrmurs nods. I do like seeing stuff like Hospital being brought down in peril
to create more low peril content spaces to write in.
Stitch asks, "Think Bartholomew is doing that periodically, for example. It'd be
nice if maybe the outer ring buildings had some neater flavor items, maybe?(literally?) Like how the
farms each have one unique thing to make them worth it"
Famine claims, "Luckily the Hospital is very worth running now for medical supplies."
Nappist states, "Metal and wood is always important."
Famine says to Murrmurs, "Hospital was brought down in peril? It's always been
peril 2 far as I know."
Andruid states, "Bottom line, don't feel bad if you have to tell someone no IC.
If you want, you can always offer to take them on another run later or something."
Petal nods at Famine.
Murrmurs states, "Well. Stacking working right so it isn't a p2 with 3-4 stacks in it."
Crayon claims, "It's always been peril two but functionally it was basically the
same as the mall before your changes to spawns, Famine."
Famine says, "It was considerably scary before we fixed room counts though"
Crayon claims, "Actually more difficult than the Mall for a hot minute."
Famine says, "Yeah, that was rough."
Anonymous states, "Its not"
Stitch says, "I know what got me to go out and learn the game was the diner changes."
Famine wonders, "Is that all for this topic so far, Daniel?"
Misty is idle.
Ruby inquires, "Which reminds me. The mall today was nuts, is it meant for
zombie groups to respawn in a few minutes?"
Andruid states, "I was vacuuming during the earlier concern about RP, but I do
have some advice in that arena."
Misty has returned from AFK.
Famine questions to Stitch, "Coffee?"
NotChloe claims, "I've noticed some odd respawns in the mall before we've cleared it a few times."
Famine states to Ruby, "It can happen yes"
Stitch states, "Yes, coffee. A fun toy to play with. So maybe if the video and
hardware store got some neat fun toys...? I don't know what those would be. Newbies might learn and
Andruid states, "And that's to be proactive - give your character a reason to
pester people. Because just hanging out in a public spot helps but doesn't always cut it."
Murrmurs states to Ruby, "If chutes are full, it can dump lots of mobs out quick as you kill."
Ruby says, "Oh boy."
Murrmurs claims to Ruby, "+mall drops into main thoroughfare, so they'll fill in
behind instead of trickling into shops"
Rue claims, "Agree that the peril 1 buildings aside from the diner and storage
unit are dull, scav wise."
Petal claims, "Anyone can suggest items for scavs or crafts etc via idea board."
zombilicious nods to Andruid.
Xander muses, "Chutes? Body chutes? 😃"
Famine states, "It depends on luck of the draw really. Zombies don't wander terribly fast."
Stitch claims, "Or the storage place? Even if it was just something hella basic
and not entirely survival-oriented, spicing up the perimeter might let newbie groups just...do
zombilicious claims, "For some reason, they love to come out right on top of Linnea."
Rue says, "The storage unit has some stuff in it."
Ode questions, "I think I need to go sleep. May I be yeeted gently into the dawn light?"
Stitch claims to Xander, "Effectively 'how zombies enter the game,' more an OOC term."
Andruid claims, "The story location was added to the perimeter - not sure if too
many people have checked that out yet."
Stitch claims to Ode, "Do not yeet gently, rage, rage"
Murrmurs says, "Yeah. Sorry, technical language describing a game thing."
Ruby claims, "We had them spawn in groups of three behind us like 3 times today,
but maybe we were just unlucky."
Petal nods at Andruid.
Scarlet nods at zomb "They used to do the same to Scarlet until she learned how
to use her sword. Now they are afraid." xD
Rue states, "The story location scav is great, Andruid."
NotChloe says, "Remember some stuff only shows with high scav skill."
Petal claims, "There's a Ballpark now too for those that haven't yet seen it. With fun items."
Famine states, "As an aside for the mall as a point of advice - Zombies will not
spawn in the stores themselves. If you shut the doors, they can't get in."
zombilicious claims, "No matter how many times I shoot them in the eye, they do not fear me."
NotChloe says, "Ballpark is cute."
Famine says, "I fixed it so they wouldn't recently."
Famine says, "To give folks a chance for RP in the stores themselves"
Petal nods at Famine.
Andruid states, "Can confirm from building - zombies cannot open doors, lol."
NotChloe states, "True dawn of the dead style."
Famine has transferred Tavi. [OOC]
Crayon states, "My understanding is that in Diku codebase if a mob loads
directly into the room it won't aggro because aggro fires off player entering or mob entering the
room and spawning doesn't count as entering, so chutes are used to avoid zombies randomly appearing
and being totally cool with you and chilling there. At least, that was why they were used on other
RPIs for a while."
Famine says, "One day I'm gonna make a zombie boss that can open doors."
Ode has been transferred out by Famine. [OOC]
Rue says, "Dead by Delight type nonsense."
zombilicious states, "Tavi, get your Harold plushie."
NotChloe states, "Only if its chloe Famine."
Petal says, "Have a zombie boss with a monkey on his shoulder that opens doors for him."
Tavi inquires, "Plursh?"
Murrmurs states, "I volunteer as monkey."
zombilicious states, "Who runs the Hays Mall? Monkey-zombie."
Tavi gets a floppy, bean-filled plushie of Harold the Bison.
Famine claims, "Part of the reason for chutes is also to give them a more random
spawn location. The way chutes work is we have them all spawn in one room and that room has exits in
every direction going to different spots."
Xander states, "Or RE style dude with a chainsaw"
Famine claims, "This sorta reduces the 'they always spawn here' feeling"
Petal nods at Famine.
Stitch claims, "Monkeys are so absolutely smart that they'd ABSOLUTELY open
doors for zombies to eat people inside if it meant they got to loot their fruit later. Little
Xander claims, "That's cool"
Famine claims, "I might reduce the overall spawn maxes for the mall if it feels
like too much of a hassle, but we've committed to not making further changes on zombies for at least
a few more weeks."
zombilicious states, "I leave my fruit in the diner, joke's on monkeys."
Tavi muses, "Are they meant to sometimes spawn behind you right after you clear a room?"
Tavi states, "Sorry if you answered, I'm late."
Famine states, "They can yes"
Rue says, "I just want zombie corpses to go away quicker. There are so many
massive piles of bodies in some rooms."
Misty states, "True."
Murrmurs claims, "I've enjoyed locations being menacing to fight in and out of."
Daniel nods in agreement with Rue
Famine claims, "Corpse decay is something I mean to talk to Ash about to see if
we want to reduce their timers."
Murrmurs says, "Quicker corpse dusting yes yes"
Nappist claims, "I usually stay out of the side buildings around the perimeter
because you can't Scan into them to figure out how crowded they are, and walking blind into 4
zombies in a random peril 5 zone is not something I am going to do ever again."
Famine says, "Currently it's a 2 IRL day timer"
Famine states, "Folks have just been very into killin zombies."
Rue says, "I got annoyed and whipped out the shovel to start burying thme once
and Atlas appeared to eat them for me. Ty Atlas."
Ruby states, "The zombie spawn issue isn't a problem for groups of experienced
players, more a cyan problem. Hence relevance to topic relating to their involvement."
Atlas claims, "They were delicious."
Famine questions, "Side buildings as in the portal ones?"
zombilicious claims, "Atlas' fearsome gut is the true champion here."
Eli has lost link.
Eli has reconnected.
Famine inquires, "Like the diner?"
Murrmurs states, "I have been wondering about perimeter buildings. Have people
seen zombies in them? they're almost always empty when I go through."
Misty states, "It's also especially annoying to get arrows from corpses when
there are zombie piles of like, 15."
Stitch says, "Never, outside of an event where there were 10 in the diner."
Rue asks, "I see a zombie corpse in the storage unit sometimes. So there must be
one in there? Or someone drags one in there...?"
Famine states, "Any building that can be entered via a 'enter <name>' will NEVER
have zombies in the entry room purely because you can't see into it ahead of time."
Nappist says, "Exactly like the diner, Famine. I like the salvation army, but
the rest of the places was like... ugh."
Nappist claims, "That is good to know."
