The Black Oak Company
The dead will fear the Black and Red
The Black Oak Company is a paramilitary organization self-tasked with ensuring the safety of the Zone through Old World military values - honor, courage and commitment. Founded and led by former ONI (Office of Naval
Intelligence) Officer Elijah Vaughn, the militia serves as a bulwark against all extra-zonal threats, priding themselves on maintaining a well-trained armed force at a constant state of readiness - ensuring rapidity and efficiency even in the most dire of circumstances.
The Sheriff may assume command of the BoC at will in emergency situations and issue orders unilaterally to the full cooperation of the company.
In the event a militiaman of the command structure is rendered incapable of serving, the next in rank will assume command.
In the event that there is no ranking officer able to assume command, it is transferred to the militiaman with the most time served.
All orders are non-negotiable unless they express explicit desire to harm a citizen of the Zone.
All militiamen must abide by a rigid code of conduct while deployed.
Militiamen are not law enforcement unless otherwise dictated by the Sheriff.
The Militia's field of operation begins outside of the barricades and extends indefinitely.
All Militiamen of combat designation are to be referred to as Rangers.
